angels descending, bring from above.
echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Cool air fluctuated about his being, so that it felt like he had to fit himself between gaps in the humid breeze, like he was swimming beneath the gentle waves of a lapping lake, pebbles being tossed ashore by the gentle yet unforgiving tide. There was a yawn at his throat and he let it out with a shake of his long body, whiskers twitching in the chilly gales of autumn. Leaves were bunched up on either side, settling around the bases of trees from which they came or even being tossed around in the air, dancing with a flimsy grace. A sunless sky greeted the morning, grey coating the usual bright, beautiful blue, perhaps the only beautiful thing around here. The hiss of the waving grass and the bending tree branches were sort of calming in a way, like a cat heaving a great sigh, content, undisturbed. Yup, that was the shape of things, this particular day, he thought quietly, a ruby red tongue reaching up to swipe his muzzle. Trees on either side of him were dark, looming figures as if their naked branches might reach out and grab him by the tail or rake their pointy ends down his lengthy back, pulling away the hair and producing the bright, scarlet blood that lied underneath.

As Summitfrost let his paws stumble to a halt, his tabby pelt rippling in the halflight, his bright blue eyes widened the tiniest bit as he caught sight of the ravine. It always seemed to take his breath away, and never ceased to surprise him with the beauty of the scene... even if it was simply a pit surrounded by smooth rocks. His eyes a blizzard of curiosity, Summitfrost proceeded to jog around the pit, his body moving with a loping, feline grace. When he was at the slope of the ravine, the grass mingling with more rocks than usual there, he pounced down it, opening his mouth in an 'o' as he realized he had misjudged the measurement of the expanse and rolling down into even taller grass. There, he was a brown and darker brown lump, his breathing fast and frantic. Am I hurt? he thought, knowing simple things like this could wound a warrior and make him unable to fight... He'd always been so paranoid about that because of the exhortations of his Clan. However, he was relieved to know that he was fine, and he stood, head poking out of the grass, baby blue eyes tracing the outline of the pit he had literally landed himself in.

"Keep smiling..."

See the white print of a paw in the haze?

    -- Why is everything so boring in this forest!? It was simply annoying. Wasn't being a warrior supposed to bring promise to protect, and patrol, and carry pride? This hardly seemed like the hardcore life of a warrior. Okay, okay, so the white she cat wasn't a warrior, yet, but being an apprentice promised excitement too, didn't it? How irritating.

    -- Autumn had sprung upon the forest and the clan inhabiting it. The trees began to shed their colorful pelt, or rather leave, letting the heavens rain in wondrous splashes of red, golds, and yellows. The ground was easily muddied, especially after a rain, but most of the soil was meshed with dry and brittle leaves. Whitepaw wanted to grimace at the very thought. So the forest was slow, nothing interesting happened in Thunderclan anymore. So the white she cat found herself wanting to hunt more so than often. Even so, Whitepaw didn't particularly enjoy it. Such a brittle ground caused for thunderous noise at the slightest step, often getting under the ill-tempered she cat's pelt. And it didn't help to have a white pelt in such a colorful world. She shadows grayed her slightly, but not so much as a black cat, of course. And she couldn't really blend into lush green, or the brown of a trunk. Whitepaw longed for winter. She could handle the cold, she could handle the hunger. Oh how glorious it would be to slither through the white walls, unseen to the eye.

    -- But winter was not upon them yet. That was the grudging reality of it. Boredom deteriorating her mind, the petite white she cat prowled the ravine. The forest had grown to be very familiar to the apprentice over the past moons, be it patrolling, training, or wondering when she could. She often pondered her own little private patrol of the borders, just to have a little fun, but she wanted to find company, a warrior just wouldn't due.

    -- Whitepaw slithered the smooth rocks, stalking nothing in particular as she'd dash from one boulder to the other, and take a dive into the brambles, or swaying grass at the top of the ravine. The white she cat wriggled her hind quarters, ducking below the grasses as a scent passed over her. It was not the scent of a mouse. It was not the scent of intruders, though the white she cat recognized this scent to be the stench of her own clan. A tom, that was for certain. He wasn't a den mate, he must have been a warrior. Summitfrost. Whitepaw finally concluded. Emerald green eyes narrowed, peering out of the grass blades. The brown tabby wondered past, leaping gracefully from stone to stone among the ravine. Green eyes traced the tom-cat in his trek. Just like that, a look of shock crossed his muzzle, and he was gone.

    -- Whitepaw's ears drew forward curiously, green eyes brimming round. She listened intently for a sound, nothing. Was he dead? Certainly not, his breathing was evident. He's probably stunned. Whitepaw grinned at this thought, it wasn't often an apprentice witnessed the screw-up of a warrior. They were supposed to be 'perfect' trained to battle and survive.

    -- A broad smirk painting across her lips, Whitepaw shouldered out of her cover and strut to the edge of the ravine, leaning forward to peer down. The brown tabby was staggering to her paws, though the white she cat couldn't hold back her snicker. "You know life is boring when Thunderclan's own falls down the ravine they've walked their whole life." Whitepaw chimed mockingly, but playfully at the tom, amusement blunt in green orbs. "Don't tell me you were just strolling about, so bored as to not pay attention. There could have been intruders skulking about." Whitepaw jeered, straightening up as though she were the mentor scolding her apprentice.

"...It makes everyone wonder what you're up to."

Sunlight met the curious and inevitably innocent blue eyes of the elder, warrior tomcat, his sleek tabby coat rippling over his muscles in the glare as he pulled himself up to a rather flat rock, claws scrabbling on the surface to gain some purchase. His striped ears flickered back and forth as he finally stood upright and stared around him at the jagged outcroppings in the ravine. If Summitfrost had been paying any attention to anything besides his direct surroundings, he might have picked up the scent of the apprentice, but as it was, he was only focused on maintaining his balance on the huge stone until he could gather up enough energy to make a leap toward the edge of the ravine, about two foxlengths over him. Powerful muscles bunched together as the tabby tom rolled his shoulder blades, leaning forward into the cold rock, his eyes looking straight up. Tail flicking back and forth behind him, he suddenly made his jump and soared upward, his claws outstretched to cling to the grassy ledge. They found a knotch, and with a pounding heart, Summitfrost heaved himself upward to slump on the ravine's edge. Then, he proceeded to almost flail back over, a voice giving him quite a fright.

"You know life is boring when Thunderclan's own falls down the ravine they've walked their whole life." Tension flooded over Summitfrost's entire form until he realized who exactly was. With a grunt of acknowledgement, he stared over the long, waving grass to see the apprentice, tiny by his estimation, though he could be off from this distance. Lostpaw stood a few foxlengths away, amusement glittering in the foggy depths of her green-hued orbs, the look of an apprentice attacking her eyes with tooth and claw. Blue eyes stared into them with Summitfrost's attempt at being stern. It ended with him giving her a kind of twitch of his eyes, tail wavering behind him. "Don't tell me you were just strolling about, so bored as to not pay attention. There could have been intruders skulking about." Summitfrost blinked... Was this apprentice ignorant or was she simply jeering at him for his disability...? Either way he ought to teach her a lesson. But, how to go about it? He couldn't exactly tell her outright he was mute. Summitfrost figured it might come easier when he was younger to communicate, but really, it tested the creative portions of his mind every single time... He coughed, wrinkling his nose, whiskers twitched. Trying to force her to understand, he yawned wide and patted a forepaw against his throat. I'M MUTE! he shouted in his head.

    -- Whitepaw was pleased to see the warrior didn't go running his tongue as most warriors would have. In fact, he didn't really seem offended, replying with a mere blinks or small gestures. The warrior heaved himself to his paws, looking up with blue eyes to meet the gaze of the white she cat. Whitepaw herself couldn't help but let a slight grin slip across her maw.

    -- The petite she cat tilted her head to the side as Summitfrost pressed a paw to his throat, remaining oddly silent. Whitepaw herself hadn't much exposure with the tom. He was just one of those cats Whitepaw knew to be a clan mate, but didn't really talk with, or even go on patrol often with. Blinking in slight confusion, Whitepaw shook her head, putting a face of confidence back on. Perhaps he was trying to confuse her? Was he playing a game?

    -- Whitepaw narrowed green orbs menacingly, tempered to go lashing her tongue once again, rather this time snapping at him for trying to screw with her head. But she held her tongue. There was not a look of triumph upon his face, but an expression that longed for Whitepaw to understand the true ordeal of what was happening.

    -- The white she cat paced slightly, paw after paw, though her gaze never left that of the warrior. "What, mouse got you tongue!?" Whitepaw finally snapped in inpatients, lashing her tail. Whitepaw was never a patient one, and often had a hot head and ill temper. "Spit it out already!" But Whitepaw found herself looking back to his action. Why had he put his paw on his throat. Did it mean something? Come to think of it, Whitepaw had to admit she had never heard his voice? He was not just a soft spoken tom, but silent all together.

    -- Whitepaw froze, her pacing coming to a halt. Realization flashed upon her face. "You don't talk at all... do you?" The feline meowed curiously, again, a tilt coming to her head.

WELCOME ;

Welcome to Corrupt.

It is a Corrupt land we live in.

Not two generations ago, we lived in peace at our home. We had four Clans, four Clans that prospered. We had healthy kits to take care of, much prey to feed on. We lived in peace with each other, for the most part. We loved our lives in the Clans and the forest we called home. But peace lasts not forever.

The foxes came. For generations we had driven them from our land, prosecuted them with fury, and they had come to seek revenge. Of course we though we would beat them in this war; but it was not so. Over half of our numbers were killed within a short span of time, and we were force to retreat. This time, it was us driven from the land. Forced to flee, we ran until one cat among us brought hope.

Blackfrost was the cats name. He guided us to a land, one not extremely far from our last home. He showed us the ways of this land, this place he used to call home. We created a new set of codes, the Survivor Code, and tossed aside the Warrior Code. Yes, they were broken and unfair, but so was this life. RiverClan, nearly destroyed, joined forces with ShadowClan. We each have small territories to call our own, but the prey is scarce enough to survive on. We don't even speak of leafbare.

We live a harsh life now. No one knows what could happen. For we are not warriors anymore. No. We are survivors.

IC INFORMATION ;
last update: 10-21

SEASON:
leaf-fall
SEASON CHANGE:
December 1st.

WEATHER:
Cold frosts are setting in, framing the golden yellow leaves with crystalized ice. Piles of fallen leaves and branches hide nuts and therefor prey. Each step taken is amplified with a dozen crunchs. Here and there are a few light snowfalls, not enough to do anything more than dust the ground, but it still causes felines everywhere to shiver. The sun gives off much warmth, the summer still pumping through it's rays, but half the time it is merely a form of light, with little warmth in store. It is still hard to tell how harsh the winter will be.
